Sefer Yetzirah ("Book of Formation") is the earliest surviving Hebrew cosmological treatise, composed anonymously between roughly the 2nd and 9th centuries CE. In fewer than two thousand words it describes the creation of the universe through 22 Hebrew letters — 3 mother letters (air, water, fire), 7 double letters, and 12 simple letters — which it maps onto the 7 planets and the 12 zodiac signs, and arranges into the 231 two-letter gates. It is the foundational text of Jewish letter-mysticism and the direct ancestor of the later Kabbalah. 1 Enoch (the Ethiopic Book of Enoch) is a Jewish apocalyptic work composed from the 3rd century BCE onward and preserved in Ge‘ez in the Ethiopian Orthodox canon. It collects the Book of the Watchers, the Book of the Luminaries (chs 72–82, the Astronomical Book), the Similitudes, the Animal Apocalypse, and the Apocalypse of Weeks. 2 Enoch (the Slavonic Book of the Secrets of Enoch) is a late-antique Jewish apocalyptic text preserved in Old Church Slavonic. It describes Enoch’s ascension through the seven heavens, the creation account, and the angelology, and gives his 365 years (echoing the solar-year 365 motif alongside the 364-day calendar of 1 Enoch). 3 Enoch (the Hebrew Book of Enoch, Sefer Hekhalot) is a merkabah-mysticism text of the late-antique to early-medieval Heikhalot literature. It narrates Rabbi Ishmael’s ascent to the divine chariot and his encounter with Metatron, "the lesser YHWH," and describes creation by letters, including "the planets and the constellations." The Nag Hammadi Library is the cache of 45 Gnostic Christian texts in 4th-century Coptic, discovered in 1945 buried in a sealed jar near Nag Hammadi, Egypt. Abraham ibn Ezra (1089-1167), the Andalusian-Jewish exegete, mathematician and astrologer, wrote on the Hebrew letters, the divine names, gematria, the mazzalot, the 28 lunar mansions and the theory of precession. Sefer ha-Shem ("Book of the Name," 1148) is his treatise on the divine Name and the properties of the Hebrew letters; the complete Furth 1834 edition (PDF scan, 83 pp.) is hosted here. Three Books of Occult Philosophy — Agrippa’s encyclopaedia of Renaissance magic: the elemental, celestial and intellectual worlds, the planetary sigils, the magic squares (kameot), and the Hebrew/Aramaic divine names. Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance (1890) — the first exhaustive concordance of the King James Version, with a complete Hebrew & Chaldee dictionary and a complete Greek dictionary keyed to the Strong numbering system (the 8674 Hebrew + 5624 Greek entries) still in universal use. The Report of the Calendar Reform Committee (CSIR, Government of India, 1955) — the basis of the Indian National Calendar and the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanāṃśa, the sidereal zero-point convention that fixes the offset (~24.18° today) between the tropical and sidereal zodiacs. Sefer Raziel ha-Malakh ("Book of the Angel Raziel") is a medieval Jewish angelological and cosmological compendium, circulating from the 13th century. It gives the 22-letter gematria (aleph=1 ... tav=400), the triangular numbers, the 12 letters mapped to the 12 zodiac signs, the 72 names drawn from Genesis 1:1, the 73 divine names, and the 28 Malachim of the lunar month. Sefer ha-Bahir ("Book of Brightness") is the earliest surviving kabbalistic text, composed in 12th-century Provence. It introduces the sefirotic theology and the letter-mysticism that descends from Sefer Yetzirah, reading the Hebrew letters as the instruments of creation. The Amsterdam 1651 edition (PDF scan, 23 pp.) is hosted here.

Saadia Gaon (882-942), the foremost Gaon of the early medieval period, wrote the earliest surviving Jewish commentary on Sefer Yetzirah, defending and expounding its 3-mothers / 7-doubles / 12-simples letter-cosmology and its letter-planet-zodiac correspondence. The Grodno 1806 edition collects five commentaries on Sefer Yetzirah including Saadia’s (PDF scan, 170 pp.) and is hosted here.

Shams al-Maʿārif al-Kubrā by Sharaf al-Dīn al-Būnī (d. 1225) is the classical Arabic grimoire of letter-magic - the 28-letter Arabic abjad mapped to the 7 planets, the 12 signs and the 28 lunar mansions, with the divine-name talismans and the jafr divination. The complete Arabic facsimile (604 pp.) is hosted as four page-range PDF parts (under the repo file-size limit).

The Zohar ("Splendor") is the central text of medieval Kabbalah, composed in late-13th-century Castile (Moses de Leon). Mathers’ 1887 The Kabbalah Unveiled presents his English translation of the project’s core selections - the Book of Concealed Mystery, the Greater Holy Assembly and the Lesser Holy Assembly (the Idra texts) - complete with index. Caveat: this is Mathers’ SELECTIONS (the three Idra books), not the complete Zohar; the complete modern translations (Soncino, Pritzker) are copyrighted and excluded.

De Mysteriis Aegyptiorum by the Neoplatonist Iamblichus (c. 245-325 CE) is the foundational theurgic treatise - the doctrine of the divine names, the invocation of the planetary archangels, the rites of ascent through the seven spheres, and the theological defence of ritual as the soul’s return to the One. De Magnis Coniunctionibus by Abu Maʿshar al-Balkhī (787-886) is the classical treatise on planetary great conjunctions - the Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions that frame world-history, the triplicity shifts, and the precessional world-periods. The Latin translation by Johannes Hispalensis (John of Seville), printed by Erhard Ratdolt at Augsburg in 1489 (incunabulum, all eight tractatus + colophon), is hosted here.

Theophrastus von Hohenheim, "Paracelsus" (1493-1541), reformed Renaissance medicine on the hermetic macrocosm-microcosm correspondence: the 7 planets mapped to 7 metals and 7 body-organs, the astral body (the sidereal corpus), and the signature doctrine. John Dee (1527-1608), the Elizabethan mathematician and magus, sought the celestial language of the angels. The Monas Hieroglyphica (1564) is his own Latin treatise on a single glyph synthesising the seven planets; A True and Faithful Relation (ed. Casaubon, 1659) records his Enochian angel-conversations. The Ars Magna of Ramon Llull (1232-1316) is the medieval combinatorial art - rotating letter-wheels whose letters (B-K standing for the divine attributes) generate every possible true proposition by mechanical combination. The Key of Solomon (Clavicula Salomonis) is the medieval grimoire of Solomonic operative magic - the planetary pentacles, the consecrated magic circles, the divine-name sigils, and the invocations by hour and planet. Transcendental Magic by Eliphas Lévi (Alphonse-Louis Constant, 1810-1875) is the 19th-century re-synthesis of the Western magical tradition - the Sefer Yetzirah letter-astrology, the Tarot-astronomy correspondence, the Astral Light and the Baphomet sigil. Aleister Crowley (1875-1947) is the modern endpoint of the ceremonial-magic lineage (Lévi to Mathers to Crowley). Two works are hosted here: (a) Liber AL vel Legis (The Book of the Law, 1904) - its three chapters (Nuit, Hadit, Ra-Hoor-Khuit) and the Thelema current; (b) Magick in Theory and Practice (1929), the complete systematic exposition of his system.

Oedipus Aegyptiacus by the Jesuit polymath Athanasius Kircher (1602-1680) is the 17th-century encyclopaedia of Egyptian hieroglyphics - Kircher’s vast attempt to read the hieroglyphs as a sacred symbolic alphabet encoding all ancient wisdom. al-Futūḥāt al-Makkiyya by Ibn ʿArabī (1165-1240) is the Sufi master’s encyclopaedia of mystical cosmology. Among its approximately 1,500 chapters, chapter 198 sets out the 28-letter Arabic alphabet mapped onto the 12 zodiac signs and the 7 planets, the letters as the substance of creation. The Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC) - the machine-readable Masoretic Text from the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible: the complete consonantal text with vowels and cantillation marks, one OSIS XML file per book (39 books + VerseMap), with lemma and morphology. This is the exact pointed text the Aleppo and Leningrad codexes preserve, rendered as data.

The Aleppo Codex (Keter Aram Tzova), c. 920-930 CE, scribed by Shlomo ben Buyaʿa and vocalized by Aaron ben Asher - the most authoritative Masoretic codex, the text Maimonides trusted as the standard.
