About this book
Sefer ha-Bahir ("Book of Brightness") is the earliest surviving kabbalistic text, composed in 12th-century Provence. It introduces the sefirotic theology and the letter-mysticism that descends from Sefer Yetzirah, reading the Hebrew letters as the instruments of creation. The Amsterdam 1651 edition (PDF scan, 23 pp.) is hosted here.
Relevance to this project
The conduit from Sefer Yetzirah to the Zohar: the first kabbalistic text to expound the divine letters and the sefirot together - the bridge text of the Hebrew letter-tradition the paper traces (Sec.6).
