PART I — Wherein the Jewes, and other Eastern men are defended.
Defense of Hebrew/Eastern astronomy and letters against the charge of
idolatry; their star-lore and alphabet rehabilitated as legitimate.

PART II — Of the Talismanical Sculpture of the Persians; or the manner
of making Figures, and Images, under certain Constellations.
The Persian talismanic science: figures/images cast under specific
celestial configurations. This is the "operative" counterpart to the
Reader: a constellation-configuration is read and materialized. (Gaffarel
is the source Richelieu is reputed to have used; Mazarin had his MS.)

PART III — Of the Horoscope of the Patriarchs: or the Astrology of the
  Ancient Hebrews.
Hebrew patriarchal astrology: the stars/constellations at the births and
deeds of the patriarchs read through Hebrew letters. (Links to the
Sefer Yetzirah / Raziel tradition of "calculating the planets and the
  signs to see the generations.")

PART IV — Of the Reading of the Stars, and what ever else is seen in the
  Aire.
Ch. XII — Whether it be possible to read any thing in the Clouds, and
in all other Meteors. (Comets / new stars / meteors as
celestial letters that rewrite the sky's word.)
Ch. XIII — That the Starres, according to the Opinion of the Hebrew
Writers, are ranged in the Heavens, in the forme of Letters:
and that it is Possible to reade there, whatsoever of
Importance is to happen, throughout the Universe.
             (→ the core chapter; see
             gaffarel_1650_part4_reading_of_stars.txt for the cleaned
verbatim extraction: heavens = book in Hebrew letters; the
             three Cabala readings Gematria/Notaricon/Temurah; Rabbi
Chomer's worked examples over Greece/Jerusalem/the Jewish
kingdom/Turkey; new stars change the word; reading direction
             West→East good / North ill, Jer. 1:14.)
